The room is lit by the pink light of Sildar and Mud’s swords.
The smashed bodies of three skeletons lie on the floor.
There are three open sarcophagi.
The party enters the Slave Pens to the east and discover Mirna (Dendrar) and her two teenage children, thirteen year old Nars and eighteen year old Nilsa.
The boy is alone in the south pen.
Aster picks the padlocks that secure the pens.
Aster approaches the boy in his cell and he is scared by her appearance.
Sildar works out that this is the Woodcarver’s family.
Mirna tells that party that the Redbrand’s had planned to sell them into slavery.
Sildar suggests that they split up, with some of the party escorting the Mirna and her family home while others continue the search for Glasstaff.
The party decide that everyone should escort Mirna home.
Wood jumps the pit trap assists the other through.
Mirna and her family struggle through the pit obstacle.
Aster makes an effort to keep Mirna and her family away from the Woodcarver’s corpse.
Wood almost slips on a ball bearing.
Aster pays a quick visit to the Common Room but discovers the treasure has been removed but the bodies and debris of the fire are still present.
She listens on the door to the north of the Common Room and hears the familiar bubbling sounds.
The party escort Mirna to the Stonehill Hill.
Sildar carries the boy on his back.
It’s night time as they pass the Sleeping Giant Taphouse and it’s all closed up.
Sagnus throws a rock at a window but misses hitting the frame instead.
Sildar shakes his head in disbelief at Sagnus actions.
The Inn is warm and cosy with about a dozen people present.
They all stop their business when the party enters with Mirna.
Trilena, the inn keeper’s wife rushes to the aid of Mirna and her kids.
Others join them.
Sagnus and Sildar get food and drink for them.
Sildar asks Mud to return with him immediately to the Hideout.
Hearing this an exhausted Aster storms off to her room.
Mud asks what the hurry is and Sildar explains the importance of Glasstaff’s capture.
He also tells Mud the deal was 200g to capture Glasstaff today.
Mud tells him they will leave in the morning and he can keep is money.
In her room Aster checks what’s in the pouches she stole from Sildar – 10 pp in one. 9 pp and 10gp in the other. A total of 200g.
The party rise at dawn and find Sildar in the public area of the Inn waiting for them.
Once they are all seated Sildar accuses an unknown member of the party of stealing his money.
He seems to suspect the rogue: Aster.
Only Aster knows of her actions and she does not admit it.
The rest of the party are confused by Sildar’s accusations and asks what he might offer instead for dealing with Glasstaff.
He states that he can no longer work with such dishonest people and calls them charlatans and crooks.
Sildar starts to leave but Mud suggests they need each other to deal with Glasstaff and that they proceed without the bounty.
Sildar reluctantly agrees and they all exit the Inn.
Outside it’s a grey and drizzly day.
As they pass the Sleeping Giant tap house, Sagnus throws another rock.
This time it smashes a window.
Sildar does not react.
Quelline ,the halfling woman, waves to them as they pass.
The party heads to the north west door.
Aster nervously checks for traps on the door – Sildar is standing over her.
The party enters the Wizard’s Workshop.
There is a desk covered in alchemical devices.
There are also books and schools about the place.
A rat scurries under the desk.
Sagnus studies the contents of the room and concludes that its setup to brew Potions of Invisibility.
He finds an impressive looking book on the history of Phandalin and the surrounding area. It’s written in Dwarfish.
He also finds 3 small bottles of rare reagents: mercury, dragon bile and powdered nightshade.
Sagnus notices the rat is watching him as he moves around the room and tries to cast Ray of Frost at it but fails.
The rat tries to retreat under the door the east but it is squashed under the boot of Wood.
Wood picks up the flattened rat and opens the door to the east.
He sees a bedchamber covered with drapes of scarlet cloth.
There is a small writing desk, a chair and a comfortable looking bed.
There is also a wooden chest at the foot of the bed.
A short, bearded human man is watching him from the far corner of the room.
He is wearing a red cloak and holding a glass staff.
