Loot Scooch #24: New Gear, Modge And The Road To Thundertree.

  • The party wakes in the Stonehill Inn after a long rest.
  • Sagnus has attuned to his new glass staff and he seems more confident in the way he is holding it. The other members of party notice for the first time that the slender glass object is in fact hollow.
  • The Inn smells of stale ale and smoke but this is slowly being buried by the more enticing aromas that are coming from breakfast being prepared in the kitchen.
  • Sildar emerges looking battered, old and hungover.
  • Aster gives the key from the Redbrand Hideout to Sildar so that he can retrieve Iarno’s body. He tells the party he plans to update the Townmaster on the recent events in the Redbrand Hideout and organise for burial of the dead.
  • Wood adds some streaks of black down and across his face.
  • The party visits Sister Garaele at the Shine of Luck. She gives Aster some incense and charcoal (but not 10g worth). Sagnus asks for “sweet oil” and she just raises her eyebrows at him in disbelief.
  • The party visits the Lionshield Coster where the owner pays them 10g each (50g) for the information leading to the retrieval of her supplies at Cragmaw Hideout.
  • Wood buys some studded leather armour and sells his regular leather armour. Sagnus and Aster purchase some copper wire. Mud purchases scale mail armour and a shield, he sells his leather armour and a spare longsword. Aster purchases some studded leather armour.

  • The area surrounding Phandalin is rollings plains with sparsely wooded areas.
  • An hour north of Phandalin the party encounters the sleeping, red headed dwarf, Modge the Podge. She takes a liking to Sagnus.
  • The party arrives at the original Goblin ambush site. The dead horse are gone and the secret trail to the Cragmaw Hideout is more obvious.
  • The party continues westward some more in search of a place to spend the night. They find a wooded area on a bend in the road that offers some protection from the wind and afternoon sun.
  • As the sun sets the wind dies down.
  • The party hears wolves in the distance as they make camp.
  • Wood takes first watch and the sound of the wolves fades out.
  • Dna takes second watch and notices a couple of shooting stars in the clear night.
  • Aster takes third watch and hears a Mopoke owl nearby. The sound of the owl stops mid call with a small “crunch”.
  • “Awww…. all mo and no poke” – Wood.
  • Aster notices a large wolf moving toward the camp and wakes the rest of the party. She fires her crossbow at the wolf and wounds it in the shoulder. She notices two more wolves behind it.
  • Mud steps over the fire towards the wolves. He growls menacingly them and they temporarily halt their movement towards the party.
  • Suddenly six more wolves come crashing out of the bushes towards the party.
